THE POSITION

We are looking for an experienced Director of Groups & Events to lead our Groups & Events Sales Team across multiple brands and locations. Your office will be based in Utrecht (NL) or Frankfurt (DE). The Director will report to the Head of Sales & Marketing and will be responsible for overseeing B2B bookings for Groups & Events, ensuring seamless operations, maximizing revenue, and maintaining strong team performance. You will work closely with all disciplines in the commercial team.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Lead and manage a team of Groups & Events Sales Specialists converting group and event opportunities.
2. Train, mentor, and inspire your team to achieve operational excellence and revenue growth.
3. Maintain a helicopter view to ensure smooth coordination between departments and oversee the entire Group & Events booking process.
4. Work closely with hotel event organizers, proactive sales teams, revenue management, and central reservations to drive results.
5. Optimize workflows and ensure strong communication between stakeholders.
6. Develop and implement winning B2B and leisure sales strategies and procedures with a focus on qualification and conversion.
7. Determine and monitor budgets and KPIs, aligning them with Odyssey Hotel Group’s vision and mission.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

1. Level C1 in English (German and/or Dutch is a strong preference).
2. At least 4 years of experience in hotel sales, reservations, and/or MICE within hospitality.
3. Proven leadership experience within hospitality, with a strong ability to develop teams.
4. A helicopter view, with the ability to oversee multiple operations simultaneously.
5. Experience in a multi-brand hotel group is a strong advantage.
6. Solid background in B2B sales and revenue optimization.
7. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
8. Experience with hospitality systems e.g., Salesforce and Opera.
