State Street’s Centralized Modeling, Analytics and Operations (CMAO) provides quantitative modeling and analytical development expertise to service Financial Risk and Global Treasury. We operate our Risk Analytic Library, a modern model development platform, to develop and execute models. We also support and operate several third party platforms for business processes. We provide macroeconomic scenarios to various forecasting including CECL, CCAR and Quarterly Stress Testing. We provide reporting, data governance and system change management for Financial Risk as well as 2nd line data risk management for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

Key Responsibilities

As a talented and passionate Software Engineer – Quantitative Analyst working for CMAO-RAL you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive and interactive web applications and dashboards for risk reporting and analytics
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and services seamlessly into the frontend
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand user needs and deliver intuitive UX solution
  • Contribute to the automation of testing, CI/CD pipelines, and environment configuration
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the frontend development toolkit and design system
  • Optimize application performance, accessibility, and usability across browsers and devices

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or more advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degrees preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in data-centric software development
  • Solid understanding of frontend technologies , especially JavaScript , HTML/CSS
  • Strong programming skills in Python , including experience with web frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Django), working APIs, Pandas, Numpy for data manipulation and backend integration
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins), and package tools
  • Good understanding of web application architecture, RESTful API design, and deployment workflows
  • Excellentcommunicationskills, capable of understanding and explaining complex data, creating meaningful visualizations and UI flows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with enterprise risk, financial modeling, or regulatory data use cases
  • Experience deploying Python apps to production (e.g., via Docker, Flask/FlaskAPI Backend, Celery or AWS cloud platforms)
  • Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React , Vue , or Svelte ) and testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) is a plus but not required
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
  • Good understanding of web application architecture, RESTful API design, and deployment workflows
