At BioNTech, our Data Privacy Team ensures compliance with data protection regulations, provides information on data protection obligations, advises on projects, and acts as a point of contact for customers, patients, and employees on all data protection issues. The team liaises with almost all internal departments and is involved when new software is introduced or clinical studies are conducted.

Your main responsibilities are:

  1. You will provide strategic data privacy guidance and support to business stakeholders, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  2. You will ensure that infrastructure and practices align with privacy obligations and best practices.
  3. You will review, draft, and negotiate data privacy terms in contracts, data processing agreements, and other legal documents.
  4. You will serve as a subject matter expert to internal teams on new and emerging privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and other pertinent data protection laws.
  5. You will support training and awareness campaigns.
  6. You will support the management and creation of data protection materials such as our data protection policy, guidelines, FAQs, etc.

What you have to offer:

  • You have a degree in law, business law, or business informatics, along with relevant additional qualifications such as training or professional experience in data protection law.
  • You possess very good specialist knowledge in data protection, familiar with GDPR regulations and current case law in the EU.
  • You have an interest and willingness to further develop your knowledge in data protection.
  • You can present complex information in an understandable way.
  • More than 3 years of professional experience in data protection law is an advantage.
  • You demonstrate ethical behavior, handle information confidently, and remain impartial.
  • You are self-organized and may have previous project experience.
  • Ideally, you have expertise in information processing and security.
