Job Description:

You will be based in one of our offices in Germany or Austria. You will work in teams and directly with our clients.

Joining McKinsey as a Junior Fellow means engaging in a challenging environment with significant investment in your professional development. You will collaborate with top organizations across private, public, and social sectors to solve complex problems. You will work alongside experts from data scientists to software developers.

You will be part of teams typically consisting of 3-5 consultants, actively involved in all aspects of client engagement.

Your responsibilities will include gathering and analyzing data, testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You will also present results to client management and implement recommendations collaboratively.

Expect comprehensive training and ongoing coaching from colleagues, including a partner assigned to guide your career, alongside formal training sessions. You will receive support in selecting client projects to enhance your skills and network.

While consultants develop specialized knowledge over time, initial roles are broad, not requiring specific industry or functional expertise. For experienced professionals, this can mean building on existing knowledge or exploring entirely new areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Undergraduate or master’s degree, or 1-3 years of work experience post-degree
• Outstanding academic achievement
• Aptitude for analytics
• Leadership demonstrated through work or extracurricular activities
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams
• Effective communication skills in English and local languages, both verbal and written
