In this pivotal role, you\’ll take full ownership of payroll operations for our German sites in Hamburg and Langenhagen, ensuring employees and pensioners receive accurate, timely payments—including international mobile employees in coordination with our Global Mobility team. This role involves leading a dedicated team across two locations, overseeing payroll system integrity (SAP HCM + Workday), ensuring legal compliance, and acting as a key link between HR, finance, and external stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to influence process improvements, data-driven decisions, and impactful projects, leading with purpose, precision, and a people-centered approach.

Principle Accountabilities

1. Ensure correct and punctual salary and pension payments for employees and pensioners in Hamburg and Langenhagen, including special groups like IMEs in collaboration with Global Mobility.
2. Lead and develop a team of 11, driving performance and managing change.
3. Oversee system updates, legal/operational implementations, and integration with Workday; ensure data accuracy and system functionality.
4. Manage the annual payroll calendar and related activities, including internal provisions and bank transfers.
5. Ensure adherence to tax, social security, and data protection laws; support internal/external audits and reporting obligations.
6. Coordinate with internal HR teams, works council, and external partners; support HR and payroll analytics and projects.

Skills and Experience Required

1. Commercial education/studies in Business Administration.
2. Knowledge of Payroll Accounting, Tax Law, Social Security Law, Labour Law.
3. Leadership skills.
4. Experience with SAP HCM.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
7. Experience in project work.
