Your Role
As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will analyze failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA) at electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical levels. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of our battery management systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and report findings to the Customer Quality Engineer and the Quality team, supporting effective customer feedback integration. Your work will follow the 8D problem-solving methodology to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations on electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical issues.
- Perform electronics forensics on field returns and production defects to determine failure mechanisms.
- Participate in the 8D structured problem-solving process and ensure thorough RCA documentation.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, production, and supplier quality engineers to identify potential failure causes.
- Provide detailed failure reports and communicate findings to internal teams.
- Support and enhance test setups and analysis methodologies for failure investigations.
Your Profile
- University degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in electronics failure analysis and schematic understanding.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa, Fault Tree Analysis).
- Understanding of automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, VDA standards).
- Hands-on experience with electronic components, PCB analysis, and testing methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach.
- Proficiency in English; German is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
