About the RoleWe are looking for a German-speaking YouTube Channel Manager to run the day-to-day operations of market-leading YouTube channels in the German and English markets.Simplicissimus and Fern are YouTube channels known for their visually engaging and meticulously researched video essays and documentaries. Simplicissimus, a German-language channel, focuses on political, societal, and cultural topics, offering critical analyses of global and local issues. Fern, its English-language counterpart, explores a broad range of subjects, including history, politics, technology, and cultural trends, catering to an international audience with accessible and thought-provoking storytelling. The German-language podcast Unfassbar complements these channels by providing long-form discussions on fascinating discoveries and events.The role requires a deep understanding of the YouTube platform, preferably with experience managing or running your own YouTube channels. Knowledge in podcast distribution is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a passion for journalistic content and is familiar with the content of the formats.The majority of the production team is based in Germany and the Netherlands.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance and support in managing the daily operations of multiple YouTube channels.Upload content, ensuring adherence to platform best practices.Identify opportunities to cross-post and/or re-version YouTube content for other platforms.Coordinate content output on all relevant publishing platforms.Develop performance updates for the wider team and company.Continuously optimise back catalogue content (e.g., via new thumbnails and titles).Utilise data analysis to provide actionable insights and growth strategies.Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present channel activities and performance.Work closely with internal and external commercial partners.Keep abreast of YouTube platform developments, trends, and training.Optimise titles, descriptions, and keywords for SEO.Write and edit metadata and copy for videos and channels.Conduct granular analysis and reporting of YouTube analytics and other data sources.Skills and ExperienceGerman language proficiency (essential).3+ years’ experience in YouTube channel management.Deep and current knowledge of the YouTube platform and algorithm.Experience with brands or channels in the documentary or journalistic niche (preferred).Experience running your own YouTube channel or managing others’ channels (preferred).Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with creative teams.Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality control and editorial standards.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.What we offerFlexible workplaceFlexible working hours and flexible employment arrangementsCompetitive compensation (depending on skills and work experience)Variety of projects and creative work in a young, growing teamRegular team events in AmsterdamWorking on important journalistic content and documentariesIf you are passionate about managing world-class educational and documentary channels and have the skills to back it up, we would love to hear from you!If possible, please submit your application in English.Electrify is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive, innovative environment with the best employees.
