Senior Sap Finance Control Consultant

Job Title: German-Speaking SAP Finance Expert (Remote)Location: Remote (Europe-based candidates)Contract Type: Freelance / ContractLanguage Requirement: Fluent German and professional EnglishOverview:We are currently seeking a highly experienced SAP Finance Expert for a long-term freelance engagement with a leading international client. This is a remote position, ideally suited for a professional fluent in German with a deep understanding of European finance and tax regulationsKey Responsibilities:Lead and support SAP Finance (FI) implementations, enhancements, and optimizations across global and regional projects.Ensure compliance with European financial regulations and tax practices, including country-specific reporting requirements.Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure financial processes are accurately translated into SAP solutions.Configure and maintain SAP FI modules (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking, Tax, etc.).Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Controlling, Procurement, etc.) to deliver end-to-end finance solutions.Provide expert-level troubleshooting, support, and training to end users.Participate in system upgrades, testing, and documentation as required.Required Skills & Experience:8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP FI, including full lifecycle implementations.Proven expertise in European finance and tax regulations, with knowledge of German GAAP and VAT compliance.Strong configuration and business process knowledge within the SAP Finance module.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluent in German and proficient in English (both written and spoken).Experience working in remote, cross-cultural teams is an advantage.Desirable:Experience with S/4HANA Finance is a strong plus.Familiarity with SAP localization settings for other European countries.What We Offer:A long-term, stable freelance engagement.The flexibility of a fully remote position.The opportunity to work on high-impact projects with a globally recognized client.
