We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance APIs and distributed systems to support our fulfillment chain. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and frontend developers to build reliable and scalable services that power our global operations.

What you\’ll do:

1. Design, build, and scale backend services in Go to support Emma’s global fulfillment and logistics operations.
2. Develop and maintain robust, secure, and high-performance REST APIs that integrate with internal systems and third-party providers.
3. Work with event-driven architectures using AWS services such as SNS, SQS.
4. Take ownership of backend components end-to-end—from development and testing to deployment and monitoring (full DevOps).
5. Ensure high code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery pipelines.
6. Contribute to recruiting efforts to grow our high-performing tech team.

Who we\’re looking for:

1. Proven experience designing and delivering scalable backend systems in a cloud environment, preferably with Go (Golang).
2. Experience with event-driven architectures using AWS SNS/SQS and familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
3. Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and systems integration patterns.
4. Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design patterns.
5. Several years of backend software development experience, ideally in e-commerce or logistics sectors.
6. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and writing maintainable, well-documented code.
7. Self-organized, proactive, and ownership-driven mindset.
8. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
9. Experience with monitoring tools and observability is a plus.
10. Bachelor\’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
