Staff Engineer for Mapping and Localization (f/m/d)

Your tasks:
Good localization is essential to plan the future course of automotive vehicles. We are looking for a passionate, experienced engineer with a mathematical background and experience in localization and mapping techniques, to develop the next generation of localization and mapping algorithms. These algorithms should not only localize the host vehicle on a given map but also automatically build a map using camera and radar sensors for future drives.
The candidate should bring a hands-on attitude, good programming skills, and good communication skills. Experience mentoring younger team members is also a plus.
Your background:
- Master or Ph.D. in science, technology, physics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical skills and a good mathematical background with deep mathematical understanding.
- Fluent programming skills and experience in programming with a modern programming language, such as C/C++, Cuda, or Python.
- Experience with software development as part of a large team.
- Work experience in at least one of the following areas:
- SLAM or Structure from Motion methods.
- Modern radar signal processing methods.
- Machine learning & Deep Learning.
