We are looking for a sales-oriented Security Senior Managing Consultant (f/m/x) to strengthen our CyberSecurity Services Go-To-Market team for the Financial Services Sector D-A-CH division. You will be responsible for ongoing contracts as well as new business for defined companies in Germany and Austria.

You will manage customer relationships and maintain contacts with CISOs and other decision-makers of your clients.

Your focus will be on business development, including new projects, service expansions for existing customers, and acquiring new clients. You will oversee the entire sales cycle—from lead identification and development to proposal preparation, contract closure, and ongoing support. You will manage the opportunity-to-order process, collaborate with technical experts to develop tailored solutions, position solutions competitively, and ensure they are financially and contractually attractive to clients.

After an initial training period, you will represent the extensive IBM CyberSecurity Services portfolio to clients and colleagues. You will support selected clients in the financial sector in Germany and Austria.

You will also act as a consultant in external projects, focusing on security strategy, risk and compliance, or threat management. You should be very familiar with current methods, standards, technologies, and trends in IT security. You should have several years of professional experience (preferably in security sales or consulting) and be capable of working independently. Experience in selling complex security solutions and services, along with strong technical and commercial understanding, is essential for recognizing, qualifying, supporting, and closing business opportunities.

Required technical and professional expertise

– Fluent in German and English

– Several years of experience in sales and business development

– Professional experience as a security consultant (f/m/x) or similar roles

– Advanced knowledge of IT security and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, BSI Grundschutz, NIST 800 Series)

– Practical experience in information security management, risk and compliance, threat management, cloud security, or related areas

Preferred technical and professional experience

– Experience in sales for security consulting or managed security services

– Existing network with decision-makers in the financial sector in Germany and Austria

– Knowledge of security requirements and frameworks in the Financial Services Sector
