Junior Professorship for Epigenetic Pharmacology

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Freiburg invites applications for a Junior Professorship for Epigenetic Pharmacology at the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Department Pharmacology II. This position is to be filled as soon as possible.

This is a grade W1-professorship with potential performance payments, suitable for highly qualified early career researchers. Conditions are governed by section 51 (2) LHG.

The ideal candidate will have a high level of scientific qualification in Epigenetics, such as from an excellent postgraduate thesis. The role focuses on researching epigenetic regulation of the genome and pharmacological methods to influence gene programs, including maintaining or altering cellular identities. Applicants should have a proven track record, experience in acquiring third-party funding, supervising colleagues, and teaching.

Prerequisites include a university degree in medicine, biology, biochemistry, or related biomedical fields, a very good dissertation, and an excellent publication record. The position is fixed-term for four years, with the possibility of a two-year extension after a successful interim evaluation.
