Engineering human Cornea-on-Chip for ophthalmic drug research

The INM’s research group Materials-Host Interactions develops tissue models and methodologies to assess the safety and performance of new biomaterials and to reduce and/or replace animal testing.

We seek a motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop the first human cornea-on-chip system that models the main layers of the corneal tissue, to be used in ophthalmic drug research.

You have:

• a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology or related fields
• experience with organ-on-chip devices, biological barriers or 3D cell culture
• creativity, flexibility and problem-solving mentality.

• TV-L E13 contract until February 28th, 2027. The position is available from January 1st, 2025.
