The position fulfils the requirement within the Iberdrola Offshore Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules to have a central assessing person present within the German region. The role holder shall be expected to carry out training, assessment and authorisation under the Iberdrola Offshore Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules for all of our German projects. The role will be transversal supporting both commissioning and the O&M side of the business with the implementation, development , day to day support and audit aspects of Iberdrolaâs Offshore Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules.
The role holder will be required to:
- Work with the Iberdrola offshore project teams to identify, plan and forecast resource requirements for each Project and their respective high voltage teams.
- Work with the Electrical Safety Team lead to produce, review and improve Electrical safety process.
- Proactively work with the O&M function during construction phase to recruit, train and authorise O&M staff ensuring smooth post-construction handover to O&M.
- Harmonise electrical working practices, to achieve a best-in-class approach to provision of Electrical Safety at our sites.
- To support the governance of the IBRO Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules across all offshore wind projects. The main focus area will be German offshore projects.
- Participate in each projectâs specific Project Safety Rule Committee and act as a conduit for any requirements coming to/from the IBRO Safety Rules Committee
- Contribute to the creation or enhancement of electrical competency and training.
- Support each project to ensure that authorisation and assessment procedures are carried out correctly.
- Ensure that Iberdrola Safety Rules are implemented correctly at our German projects.
- To carry out audits and inspections relating to electrical safety.
- Check that Services Providers/Contractors/Consultants are qualified and/or experienced for the work being undertaken.
- Monitor the performance of Service Providers/Contractors for Electrical Safety Compliance and follow up if required.
- Provide input to Investigations into electrical safety incidents or near misses.
EDUCATION
- The job holder will preferably be educated to Bachelors (BSc/BEng) degree level in electrical engineering. In cases where the applicant does not meet these criteria, then consideration will be given to work experience relating to Electrical safety and to any other academic achievements.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5-10 years âelectricity supply industry field experienceâ gained preferably in any of the following areas: renewables (wind or solar), power stations, distribution or transmission.
- Previous authorisations as SA, Control Person, EFK / VEFK at appropriate voltage levels
- Experience of high / medium voltage switching and working safely on high / medium voltage electrical networks.
- A solid understanding of high / medium / low voltage electrical operations.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting technical specifications and drawings for electrical equipment and associated systems.
- In depth knowledge of electrical hazards and safe working in Substations , cable networks , generators, convertor stations , wind turbines, switch rooms.
- Must speak fluent German and live in Germany.
