Your Role
Kühne + Nagel operates a hybrid cloud environment in several globally distributed data centers, where the global IT infrastructure provides services that enable development teams to develop and operate their applications.
The Global Compute, Storage, and Backup Team provides all relevant services related to virtualization, storage, SAN, and backup for both private and public clouds. In this team, you will work with other colleagues to further optimize and automate our existing infrastructure.
Your Responsibilities:
- Further development and optimization of our virtualization landscape with approximately 9000 VMs and 150 hosts in the EMEA data center.
- Troubleshooting and optimization of our network virtualization (NSX-T) together with colleagues from the network team.
- Lifecycle management of all physical hosts.
- Support and consulting on cloud migrations.
- Automation of recurring tasks.
- Optimization of our hybrid cloud monitoring.
- Constant review for compliance regarding patch levels, configurations, and standards across all data centers, and their correction.
- Support our DevOps teams as a consultant and 3rd level support for all questions related to virtualization and performance.
Your Skills and Experiences:
- A completed degree, ideally in business informatics/computer science or a comparable education.
- Several years of experience in the architecture, administration, and operation of virtualization environments in the enterprise sector, preferably VMware.
- Experience with other vCloud products such as NSX-T, vROPS, and LogInsight.
- Experience in storage and backup technologies, as well as cloud technologies.
- Practical experience in the application of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, JavaScript).
- Very secure English skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication skills, combined with a team-oriented working style in an international environment.
- High level of self-motivation, flexibility, and innovation.
- Participation in on-call duty on a weekly basis.
