AFC Manager

Job Description: AFC Manager

The AFC Manager is responsible for managing the Finance, Accounting, and Controlling functions of the subsidiary by ensuring effective financial management systems and processes to facilitate business decisions.

Key Activities

1. Benchmarking and best practice reviews to optimize processes
2. Compliance testing
3. Company Secretary duties (e.g., HR management, leasing contracts, legal and tax issues management)
4. Group reporting, financial, accounting, and controlling reporting
5. Group risks assessment and planning of controlling and audits
6. Review and continuous improvement of all AFC processes (e.g., PtP, OtC, Finance and Treasury, Tax, Financial closing based on Corporate processes)
7. Support to Corporate Projects
8. Support country organization with consolidation, budgeting, and reporting
9. Finance management including monitoring inventory/stock, tax management, payroll processes, and labour costs
10. Accountancy

Technical Competencies

• Excellent understanding of finance, accounting principles (IAS, GAAP, IFRS), and internal controls
• Profound knowledge of local government tax regulations
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, budgets, and financial projections
• Ability to provide accurate financial information for strategic planning and operational coordination
• Negotiation skills for vendor agreements, financial contracts, and insurance policies
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and practices

Education & Training

• Degrees: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
• Languages: Native German speaker and fluent in English; Italian is a plus
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in financial accounting, with at least 3 years at Controller level or equivalent
