We are currently looking for our future R&D Project Manager who will be based in Wabtec, Brunnthal .
Who will you be working with?
Technical Project Managers (TPL) are responsible for managing projects in technical areas. They coordinate tasks where engineering skills are needed and oversee projects from specifications through planning to completion.
What will your typical day look like?
- Cross-functional management and control of technical project tasks in R&D projects.
- Scheduling tasks according to phase plans.
- Assessing risks.
- Elaborating and monitoring project KPIs.
- Organizing project milestones (quality gates) and preparing milestone checklists.
- Handover to projects/domains.
- Using technical project management tools.
- Monitoring project costs.
- Negotiating workload with resources reporting directly or indirectly to product engineering, including electronic and software engineering.
- Coordinating with Domains for additional resources or technical areas not available at product engineering.
- Collaborating with ANNAX China engineering and Transversal Domains at Faiveley Transport Tours.
How will you make a difference?
- Planning and delegating project tasks leveraging resource planning tools.
- Driving technical project management through successful R&D milestones.
- Ensuring milestones and quality gates are met.
- Conducting regular status updates with team members.
- Maintaining effective information flow within technical teams and reporting to the Product Engineering Manager.
- Conducting regular project status meetings.
Organization:
- Indirect management of team members, whether staffed or not in product engineering.
- Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager within the organization.
What do we want to know from you?
- Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or comparable qualification.
- Proficiency in electronics, software development basics, mechanical design (reading mechanical drawings), understanding international standards, and device testing.
- At least two years of experience in technical project management, including planning, resource negotiation, quality gates, budgeting, and cost control.
- Autonomous and responsible attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and German.
