What You Will Do:
- Join our EME PS team as a Consultant, helping implement and manage projects transforming the buildings sector toward climate neutrality and sustainability, respecting environmental limits.
- Work collaboratively across disciplines with experts in engineering, natural and social sciences, economics, policy, legal, and planning to develop balanced, cost-effective solutions.
- Engage in data gathering, complex calculations, simulations, policy analysis, report writing, and presenting findings to clients.
- Opportunity for rapid skill development through hands-on experience and formal training via Guidehouse Learning platform.
What You Will Need:
- Degree in natural sciences, engineering, physics, renewable energy, technical building systems, economics focused on technology, or political science, with top academic performance.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in energy and/or climate analysis, including internships.
- Passion for climate action, especially decarbonizing buildings and heating sectors within societal, political, technological, and environmental contexts.
- Interest in expanding knowledge in district heat/heat networks.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and networking skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel, including outside Europe (e.g., MENA, US).
- Fluent in German (C1 or higher) and English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have:
Experience in:
- Building energy calculations/simulations (TRNSYS, EnergyPlus)
- R programming or advanced Excel skills
- Heat network analysis or policies
- Sector coupling, heat pumps, EVs, hydrogen, energy system integration
- Life-cycle assessment tools
- Understanding of policy cycles
