Position Summary
The Field Science Specialist / Medical Science Liaison acts as a bridge between the company and healthcare professionals (HCPs), providing in-depth scientific knowledge, practical medical applications, and support for our products and research. The FSS is the medical and scientific expert in the field responsible for engaging with key opinion leaders (KOLs), facilitating in-depth discussions on the benefits of using CGM for patients with Diabetes, including clinical data and its optimal use. Your insights will drive our clinical strategy, support product development, and enhance our educational activities. The FSS also contributes to effective communication of clinical and scientific information within the respective country/region, e.g., at congresses.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Dexcomâs devices and facilitate scientific discussions, presentations, and educational activities to communicate their clinical value and application.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and other stakeholders in the medical and scientific communities.
- Provide detailed, accurate, balanced, and timely scientific information and support in response to inquiries from HCPs and other stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest scientific research, clinical guidelines, and industry trends in diabetes management.
- Deliver educational sessions and presentations to disseminate clinical data, diabetes-related information, and effective use of CGM to HCPs.
- Facilitate peer-to-peer training to enable discussions on best practices in diabetes treatment.
- Support sales teams with scientific information and updates during product launches, customer meetings, and training sessions.
- Assist clinical research teams in identifying sites and investigators for clinical trials.
- Gather information from KOLs on their use of our products.
- Provide feedback to marketing and sales to aid in the development of marketing materials and commercial strategies.
- Represent the company at scientific conferences, meetings, and advisory boards, presenting data and engaging in scientific discussions.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities and interactions, providing regular updates and reports to management.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in a scientific or clinical role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
- Experience in Diabetes is preferred.
- Strong scientific and clinical expertise in Diabetes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and sustain professional relationships with KOLs and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for engagement with HCPs, conferences, and research activities.
