The role involves building competencies and resources to ensure the delivery of the Airframe unit, including defining methods, processes, and tools throughout the product lifecycle from research to continuous support.This position includes managing processes and delegations in line with the design organization for relevant competencies within Airframe. The Director is responsible for strategic decisions to position the company as a benchmark in competencies, working practices (such as agile and lean), and for continuously assessing trends and capabilities, including digitalization.The main tasks and responsibilities are:Ramp up airframe competencies and capabilities according to defined deliverables and headcountLead disciplinary engineering teams, including competence management and trainingImplement program and project requirements into resource planning, including subcontracting policiesEnsure adequate training and preparation of signatory candidates for design delegationSupport company strategy by positioning airframe engineering to meet future needs and trendsYou’ll bring this with you:Engineering degree (BA or MA) in aeronautics, aviation, or mechanical engineering10+ years of professional experience in aircraft development and product requirementsBroad proficiency in airframe requirements, design criteria, materials, methods, and toolsExperience with at least one new aircraft program developmentProven leadership with at least 5 years managing engineering teamsSuccess in balancing technical and programmatic requirementsStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasksAssertive, proactive, innovative, and creative mindsetExcellent English skills; German is a plusWhat we offerOpportunities to develop and share your ideas and skillsFlexible working hours & 30 days of vacation annuallyAccident insurance & capital-forming benefitsSubsidized canteenLocation at Airport Oberpfaffenhofen, 30 minutes from Munich city center or free parking at the airfieldDid we arouse your interest?We look forward to your application.Deutsche Aircraft GmbHHuman ResourcesAirport Oberpfaffenhofen82234 Weßling – Website #J-18808-Ljbffr
