Job Title: Vice President, Health Economics & Market Access Europe
Our client is a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company whose dedication is to improving lives and defeating cancer by developing a portfolio of therapies addressing high unmet medical needs in oncology
Position Objective
Based in Germany (Europe HQ) and reporting to global headquarters based in the US (East coast) , the Vice President, Health Economics & Market Access is responsible for leading and directing the global Health Economics and Market Access organization and for developing and executing the market access strategy across European markets

Key Responsibilities
- Foster capabilities and skills development within the group to support innovation and anticipation of local market trends that inform new and effective market access strategies.
- Collaborate with commercial colleagues to identify and assess market access opportunities and risks across EU markets, prioritizing them based on their commercial impact.
- Advise and inform global market access approaches and payer strategies based on evidence-based insights, trends, and developments.
- Anticipate payer objections and develop proactive solutions to overcome challenges.
- Promote innovative global health economics/outcomes research for the portfolio.
- Foster innovation by adopting cutting-edge methodologies, including AI and advanced data sourcing strategies.
- Ensure ongoing assessment of European strategies and evidence opportunities to strengthen and advance market access.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure awareness of market access policy insights, positions, and areas of focus to advance access and enable/shape external advocacy efforts.
- Define reimbursement pathways (coverage, payment…) for future products and life cycle management by identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
- Lead responses to inquiries regarding technology assessment committees driving the value of products.
- Access appropriate expertise and guidance when addressing external reimbursement inquiries.
- Promote exchange and dissemination of evidence-based information with all relevant external stakeholders.
- Develop and cultivate an external global network of policy stakeholders, market access experts, and advisors to advance access policy objectives and inform global and region-specific trends/topics of importance.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in business administration, health policy, health economics, life sciences, or healthcare. MBA or PhD preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15+ years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience in health economics and outcomes research or related functions.
- At least 6+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in Health Economics and Market Access.
- Key competencies: business and financial acumen, negotiation skills, strategic and analytical thinking, decision-making, collaboration, and communication.
- Proven ability to identify trends impacting business and develop strategies for sustainable success.
- Experience creating strategies for timely, quality, and affordable patient access.
- Ability to influence and engage internally and externally at senior levels.
- Experience navigating internal processes and mobilizing stakeholders.
- Track record in Health Economics & Reimbursement.
- Experience evaluating the economic value of products and therapies based on clinical and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies.
- Experience in developing and executing lifecycle economic evidence and market access strategies enabling market access and commercial success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills across all organizational levels and with external payor and hospital value groups.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities focused on hiring, developing, and retaining a world-class team, with success in driving results.
- An established network of health economic stakeholders across the EU region would be beneficial.
Additional Information :
- Estimated ~25% of time required for travel, primarily across the EU region
- Travel to the US required to participate in leadership initiatives.
