Position: Technology Operations, Asset & Maintenance Engineer
Location: Cologne, Germany
Salary: €70,000 – €85,000 + benefits
Our client is an exciting specialty chemicals organisation, offering a unique supply of chemical applications with uses across a wide range of industries. An independent business, the organisation was born from senior leaders at a Global Leading chemicals business. Since carving out independently, the company has built up departments from the ground and is still developing functions further at a good pace.
At the site in Cologne, our client is hiring for a Business Process leader for the team of maintenance engineers and operational employees. While not being the direct daily supervisor, you will organise business structures and create the Maintenance function from a process standpoint, as a point of interface between Maintenance, Production and Supply Chain.
This is an exciting opportunity for somebody with experience in designing maintenance processes who wishes to challenge themself in a growing and ambitious organisation. Applicants must speak German fluently for internal communication.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define processes for the Maintenance function in interface with Supply Chain and Production
- Implement KPIs for Maintenance Management (MTBF, MTTR, MTTF etc.)
- Process owner for gateways and safeguarding across the Maintenance team
- Shaping the organisation of Maintenance and building cross-functionality between departments
- Acting at times as the Plant Safety Engineer, Asset Engineer and using technical operations expertise
- Functional management of the team of 15+ maintenance staff on-site in Cologne
- Analysis of weak points and identifying potential for improvement to continuously develop the production facilities
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE–
- University degree in relevant fields (process engineering, mechanical engineering etc.)
- Fluency in German and good English
- Experience in designing maintenance processes within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to advance the organisation with other leaders into more of a process-focused business
- Open personality and clear communication style, with ability to lead functionally and give direction to employees while interfacing with other department leaders
- Proactivity to enjoy helping to shape the organisation in line with growth plans
- Ability and ambition to work in a fast-paced growth environment
