Overview

Evident Technology Center Europe GmbH (ETCE), based in Münster, Germany, has been developing and producing intelligent software and hardware solutions for microscopy as a global \“Center of Excellence\“ for over 35 years. Originally part of Olympus Corporation, it became an independent company in April 2022. Evident employs around 4,500 people worldwide, developing products for clinical diagnostics, life science research, industrial applications, and more.

Role Summary

As Director (m/f/d) of Agile Software Development , you will lead local software teams in Münster, collaborating with global R&D centers, especially in Tokyo, to deliver secure, innovative, and regulatory-compliant healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage local software and test teams, ensuring best-in-class development and documentation.
2. Champion Agile practices across teams and drive organizational transformation.
3. Oversee integration of AI into development processes.
4. Coordinate with international R&D stakeholders on complex medical software projects.
5. Improve development workflows focusing on compliance, security, and continuous delivery.
6. Promote safety and sustainability awareness within your department.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or similar.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years leading development teams.
• Expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills, focused on team development.
• Fluent in English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to work on-site in Münster at least 2-3 days/week.
• Open to travel to the US and Japan 1–2 times per quarter.

Bonus points for experience with Microsoft development environments and medical device software (EU MDR, FDA).
