The Field Service Engineer (FSE) provides technical support for equipment within company, ISO, FDA, and budgetary guidelines, aiming to minimize customer downtime and generate revenue opportunities for Bruker Spatial Biology. This role requires strong technical skills, independence, customer relationship skills, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities
- Complete equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs with proper documentation, ensuring compliance with QA procedures.
- Communicate effectively with customers to build confidence in services and capabilities.
- Provide feedback for system reliability improvements.
- Support sales and applications teams to maximize uptime and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to quality process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Hands-on field service experience, preferably in biotech, life sciences, or robotics, including working on systems in laboratories with biohazard safety precautions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics, electromechanical systems, robotics, liquid handling, and networking.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, managing scientific data effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Basic IT and networking knowledge.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% with a valid passport and ability to obtain visas.
- Physical ability to lift 80-100 lbs occasionally.
- Fluent in English and the local language if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy and robotic systems.
- Knowledge of genetic analysis techniques.
- Experience in a QSR-certified environment.
