Role Overview: Senior Vendor Managers are responsible for managing customer experience, topline performance, and profitability for their vendors. They facilitate all interactions with the vendor base, including onboarding new vendors, creating catalog items, negotiating contracts, managing promotional activities, and resolving operational issues. They focus on scaling, identifying competition, and external trends for their vendors and categories.
Your Tasks:
- Develop and negotiate exclusive articles, limited editions, pre-launches, and bundles for Branded Accessories independently.
- Initiate new concepts for attractive product presentation, including local content and brand presentation.
- Manage payment terms and cost structures; audit for optimal contractual terms; drive strategic negotiations to enhance category growth.
- Create growth opportunities through market, competitor, and range analysis; influence vendors to prioritize customer experience and efficiency.
- Provide feedback on existing programs or create new initiatives to increase vendor participation.
- Review promotion results, adjust strategies, and negotiate new promotions; develop vendor marketing plans to maximize margins and customer satisfaction.
- Identify vendor issues, direct teams to resolve conflicts, and act as an escalation point.
- Regularly audit metrics to ensure quality across vendors and categories.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to implement scalable solutions addressing customer pain points.
- Partner with teams to develop annual plans for vendors and categories; build a network within the pet industry.
- Lead cross-functional projects involving relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure robust process documentation and accountability within the team.
- Seek feedback, demonstrate self-awareness, and pursue personal development goals.
- Acquire new vendor partners to expand and strengthen the Accessories portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Category Management, Vendor Management, or Purchasing, preferably in retail or the pet industry; e-Commerce experience is a plus.
- Experience working in an international environment.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of customer needs and market trends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Strong influencing and vendor management skills.
- Fluent in German and English.
