About this Position:
We are looking for a Backend Engineer who can spearhead the development and maintenance of our backend services and infrastructure. As a founding engineer, you will contribute to and shape the culture of the company: things like close collaboration and open communication are invaluable to us. Ideally, you are comfortable with at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, Rust, Go. As an early startup, we are flexible in what stacks and technologies we use. Since we want to build scalable and sustainable technologies that empower its users, we believe engineers who understand and empathise with our users can help us deliver it.

Who are we looking for:
We are looking for someone with:
- 4+ years of professional experience in Python/Java/Rust/Go
- Proven experience in building and working with backend languages and infrastructure at scale
- Strong understanding and application of testing, CI/CD pipelines, application architecture
- Eagerness to drive backend-related technical initiatives and discussions
- 4+ years of professional experience in collaborating with other technical and non-technical team members
To be successful in this role:
- Follow and preach clean code and documentation standards
- Service-driven self-starter with an eagerness to jump in and contribute their ideas and know-how to the existing infrastructure
- Work with Customer Success and Sales teams to manage the Trial/Pilot/Proof of Concept programmes for prospective clients in the sales cycle
- Work with Customer Onboarding and Client/Customer Success teams to ensure strategic customer success and transitions by identifying needs, contract terms, and technical requirements from the Customer; work together to provide solutions to customer problems and technical hurdles
- Responsible for representing the product value add, both technically and functionally to customers at events such as conferences, on-site visits, demonstrations, etc.
- Support teams with subject matter expertise on topics such as Privacy, Information Security, etc.
- Progress own personal and professional development and mastery of key topics relevant to the proactive direction of the business
- Passion for building and shipping quality products to users

Please note that our team is located across the world so to ensure continued collaboration, the successful candidate would need to be online for ~4 hours each day within typical working hours of Germany or Australia.
