As part of State Street’s Model Risk Management (MRM) function, the Model Risk Governance Team is charged with a number of responsibilities including owning the firm’s model risk management framework (including the Policy, Guidelines, and Procedures), performing/overseeing model validation review activities, providing guidance on appropriate model usage in the business context, managing the firm’s model inventory, evaluating ongoing model performance testing, performing quality assurance functions, and evaluating regulatory requirements.

What you will be responsible for

State Street is seeking an Officer to join the MRM Governance team based in Poland. The Officer will be primarily responsible for the MRM Quality Assurance (QA) function. The MRM QA function is responsible for doing quality assurance reviews for two primary activities, both of which are essential parts of the MRM Framework.:

Model validation activities performed by MRM’s Model Validation Group (MVG) Ensuring that the data contained in MRM’s model inventory remains accurate and up to date

Specific duties generally include the following:

  • Reviewing the consistency and accuracy of model validations performed by MRM’s MVG to ensure MRM remains compliant with its own policies and guidelines
  • Reviewing model / non-model determinations made by MVG personnel to ensure consistency of approach and method across various MVG teams
  • Analyzing model inventory data to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Communicating quality assurance results and observations with relevant stakeholders
  • Supporting general maintenance of the data in MRM’s model inventory, which contains hundreds of models with hundreds of attributes
  • Supporting the Model Inventory Certification process, including working with business partners to address inquiries and provide guidance as needed

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (a writing sample may be required)
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Desire to learn and get involved with data related activities
