Senior Service Manager SAP-Basis (m/f/d)*

This role will be part of the Infrastructure Operations Tower for Group Technology (IT 1.8), which is responsible for delivering stable, cost-effective operational services for IT infrastructure and in-scope applications, including onsite IT and provider management. The Tower focuses on continuous optimisation, standardisation, and automation to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

The Senior Project Manager in the Transformation / Strategic Planning department is responsible for driving the implementation of the Purple Transformation Program and responsible for the continuous development of the IT organization according to market trends and business needs. This role involves effective collaboration with stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives that contribute to the overall success of the transformation efforts.
We are looking for a qualified Senior Service Manager for the organisational unit SAP-Basis within Platform Operations, in the Department Infrastructure Operations – Global Operations.
SAP-Basis provides in the majority automatic deployed platforms for SAP systems in a hybrid cloud environment. In this broad and varied field of activity, you will reinforce the global SAP team, participate in group-wide projects and be responsible for the operation of the SAP landscape.
- Management of the operational vendor to maintain a stable environment
- Responsible for the Product Lifecycle of SAP products
- Continuous improvement of the service quality
- Report, forecast and optimize SAP-Basis costs in the cloud and on-premise
- Close cooperation with architecture and engineering
- Managing escalations of the customers
- Responsibility for execution and supporting of audits, compliance and vulnerability related tasks
- Work closely and coordinate with cross-functional IT units, as well as risk management and compliance management
Your profile:
- University degree in a technical discipline or IT-related technical training with several years\‘ professional experience
- Several years\‘ experience with SAP architecture and the operation of SAP related infrastructure solutions, ideally with a knowledge of the areas of server, storage, backup and restore
- Extensive experience in the IT field with in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure services and cloud technologies
- good understanding of ITLv4 processes or other ITSM best-practices
- Highly service- and customer-oriented and a driver of operational efficiency, coupled with experience in stakeholder management and the management of internal and external interfaces
- Strengths in the areas of planning/organisation, communication and argumentation, a confident manner and a rapid grasp of detail
- Ability to think strategically allied with transfer thinking and cost awareness
- Fluent command of English
