Role Overview:
The SAP BASIS Administrator and Consultant is responsible for providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for SAP systems. This includes installation, configuration, system maintenance, performance optimization, and issue resolution. The role acts as a technical escalation point and works closely with stakeholders, project teams, and customers—primarily in German—to ensure the secure, stable, and efficient operation of SAP environments.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Installation & Configuration
- Set up new SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA), ensuring proper integration and performance
- Handle configuration and maintenance of SAP systems, user management, and security settings
✅ System Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization
- Optimize systems to ensure smooth daily operations
✅ Upgrades & Patching
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations
- Manage Change Requests via SAP Solution Manager (SOLMAN) and SAP Cloud ALM
✅ User Management & Security
- Manage users, roles, and authorizations
- Ensure access controls are compliant with best security practices
- User administration using SOLMAN and SAP Cloud ALM
- (Nice to Have): Knowledge of SIVIS/PointSharp for access control
✅ Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide advanced (L2/L3) support for Incidents, Service Requests, and Change Requests
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues
✅ Documentation
- Maintain clear and detailed documentation: runbooks, SOPs, configuration records
✅ Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (SAP functional, development, project managers, IT, and business stakeholders)
- Engage with German-speaking clients to gather requirements, explain solutions, and provide status updates
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years experience in SAP BASIS administration and consulting
- Hands-on expertise with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, ABAP, SOLMAN, SAP Cloud ALM
- Experience with Oracle, HANA databases
- Understanding of SAP Security and User Access Control
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills—German language proficiency (min B2) is mandatory
