The legal team is an internal service provider supporting Sportradar\’s growth by ensuring a solid and secure foundation. It includes divisions such as Corporate & Employment Law, Privacy, Litigation, Compliance & Risk, Commercial Sales Legal, and Sports Partnership Legal.

We are looking for a talented Legal Counsel for the Sports Partnership Legal team to support Sportradar’s Rights & Sports Partnership division. The role involves providing legal support and negotiating licensing agreements related to partnerships with sports rights holders, such as major international sports leagues and federations (e.g., NBA, MLB, Bundesliga, UEFA, ATP) globally for the entire Sportradar Group.

The Legal Counsel will be part of an experienced, international legal team based in Munich, Germany. The role involves acting as an interface between regional and product teams, the commercial Rights & Partnership unit, and the legal department to ensure consistent legal project support and maintenance of contractual standards, particularly concerning the scope of commercial rights.

THE CHALLENGE:

• Drafting, negotiating, administering, and supervising audiovisual and data licensing and service agreements (in English and occasionally German) related to the betting and media industry.
• Providing legal support and involvement in sports rights holders tender processes.
• Researching and providing legal opinions on IP, media law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Offering legal advice and training to operational and commercial teams.
• Managing licensing portfolios and contracts, including administrative tasks.
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as compliance, privacy, and tax teams.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Media and contract lawyer with 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a corporate setting or law firm.
• Strong knowledge of commercial law and experience with commercial contracts.
• Excellent English communication skills; German fluency is a plus.
• Flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Understanding of the sports and sports betting ecosystems, including legal, political, and economic aspects.
• Knowledge of data and audiovisual content commercialization is desirable.
• Autonomous, sound judgment, and comfortable working in ambiguity.
• Strong relationship management and collaboration skills.
• Positive attitude, diplomacy, and approachability.
