The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) is seeking to fill a W2/W3 professorship (open rank) for Immunology (m/f/d) in the Institute for Immunology as soon as possible.
The position can be as a civil servant or employee on the basis of the W2/W3 remuneration scheme. Depending on the individual selected, a temporary appointment may be considered.
Area of Responsibility:
- Engage in teaching, research, and service in the field of veterinary immunology.
- Conduct research activities using innovative concepts and modern methodologies, including OMICS techniques for systems immunology.
- Address applied research questions in relevant models to contribute to animal health under the One Welfare paradigm.
- Establish cooperations with institutes and clinics at TiHo, regionally, and nationally.
- Integrate into existing TiHo networks and participate in collaborative research networks.
- Deliver teaching in immunology for veterinary medicine and M.Sc. Animal Biology and Biomedical Sciences programmes, developing innovative learning and teaching concepts.
Requirements:
- An international research profile with experience in veterinary immunology, evidenced by excellent publications and acquisition of third-party funding.
- Experience with (inter)-national cooperations and in leadership and management.
- A degree in veterinary medicine, biology, or a related life science with relevant specialization.
- A high level of teaching experience, a doctorate, habilitation, or equivalent scientific qualification.
- Completion of courses in university didactics and results of teaching evaluations.
- Additional recruitment requirements are regulated in § 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG).
