Job Overview
The US Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA) oversees the design, construction, and outfitting of military medical facilities worldwide. Localized field offices support on-site activities in high-workload areas. USAMMA requires facility and project management support, including sustainment, restoration, modernization, work order issuance, design support, coordination with public works, initial outfitting, transition coordination, planning, purchasing, and provisioning of facilities. USAMMA manages the medical component of the Army’s prepositioned stock (APS) program globally, establishing medical APS warehouses to store and maintain equipment across various locations. Numerous projects, valued in the millions of dollars, are ongoing in the European and Asia theaters to support the APS program. Travel to these sites during the contract period is expected.
Qualifications
- Verification of at least two years of construction project management experience.
- Verification of at least three years of experience in medical logistics management.
- Technical knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, methods, and procedures affecting Army health facility and medical warehouse construction.
- Knowledge of principles related to architecture, engineering, design, construction, project management, medical systems, and relevant standards (space planning, life safety, antiterrorism, indoor air quality, patient privacy, sustainability, etc.).
- Understanding of DoD and Army construction policies, contracting functions, quality assurance, and risk management.
- Familiarity with relevant organizations, computer programs (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook), and data/document management, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and estimates.
- Knowledge of product material safety data sheets and hazardous material storage environmental requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a facility manager and support the project management team, providing consultation and advice to government personnel involved in USAMMA medical facilities lifecycle management and supporting multiple USAMMA medical APS warehouse projects.
- Support USAMMA projects at multiple sites.
- Apply expertise in US Army health facility planning, project management, construction, space management, facility management, initial outfitting and transition (IO&T), total building commissioning (TBCx), operations and maintenance, safety data sheet development, construction meetings, and compliance with U.S. building codes, DoD and Army regulations, NFPA, OSHA, ASHRAE, ADA, host nation standards, environmental regulations, and other standards.
