Post-doctoral Researcher - the Sun as an X-ray Star
University of Tübingen
Tübingen, Germany
Goal of this approach is to convert solar X-ray observations to a format that can be used to model the X-ray spectra of other stars and, hence, to investigate the solar-stellar connection for the corona. The project involves the analysis of archival solar imaging and spectroscopic X-ray data. The project will be carried out in the research group Space Based Astrophysics of Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen/Germany led by Prof. B. Stelzer where a broad range of topics related to multi-wavelength observations of the formation and evolution of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs are studied and one focus is stellar activity including the solar context.
- The applicant must have a PhD or equivalent degree in physics or astrophysics.
- Expertise with X-ray data analysis and a background in solar physics are useful.
