Senior/Staff CAD Engineer / Electronic Design - Munich (m/f/d) in München

A CAD Engineer is a development/support role focusing on semi-conductor / EDA design flows/tools. At Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working in a fast-paced, collaborative, production support role evaluating, developing, improving, and debugging both in-house and commercial EDA tools and flows for the design, physical layout, and verification of CMOS integrated circuits.

Responsibilities and Tasks include, but not limited to:

• Serves as a subject matter of expert within a technical discipline
• Defines and leads large projects
• Provide input to team members and managers on technical or innovation
• Guide the ML/AI implementation on CAD flows
• Providing training, documentation, and support to end-users on new tools and methods
• Collaborating closely with design and process teams
• Develop and apply CAD software engineering methods, theories, and research techniques in support of the organization’s product development.
• Assignments include crafting and developing CAD software, assessing architecture and hardware limitations, and defining and implementing CAD software engineering applications.

Successful candidates will have the following:

• Coursework or experience in EE, CE or CS including VLSI circuit design and software
• Expertise in IC design CAD tools (schematics, layouts, simulation, and verification tools) is required
• Exposure to CMOS circuit design and implementation including area, speed, and power tradeoffs
• Excellent programming fundamentals are required
• In-depth experience in the SKILL and Python programming languages are preferred, but recent and proven experience in C, C++, Visual Basic, Perl, or Lisp will be considered
• Using AI to increase your analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experienced with Unix and shell scripting is helpful
• Experienced with RTL2GDS workflow is a plus (Fusion Compiler, Innovus, PrimeTime, Formality, RedHawk-SC, SpyGlass, etc)
• Experienced with EDA software in analog/digital verification flows, Parasitic extraction flows, Design DB versioning System
• Experienced in AI/LLM, Agentic AI, applying AI
• Education: Bachelors or preferably Masters/PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

The base salary range that Micron estimates it could pay in for this position full-time is: €79,000.00 - €156,000.00 per year.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.

In addition to base pay, the remuneration package also includes:

• eligibility for a variable plan subject to the personal achievement of objectives and the company's performance
• benefits, which at the discretion of the company, currently include meal vouchers, corporate welfare, yearly allowance of remote working days, supplementary health insurance, life coverage, Employee Assistance Program
