Associate Director, Business Process Optimization (BPO) Lead Location: Allschwil, Basel-Country, Switzerland (remote options considered on a case‑by‑case basis) Role Overview
The Associate Director Business Process Optimization (BPO) Lead will be responsible for the strategy, oversight, health, and performance of processes in collaboration with Process Owners and Subject Matter Experts. The BPO Lead will drive, participate or support key complex or strategically meaningful process improvement efforts and be accountable for developing and maintaining metrics for key processes and presenting them to appropriate Global Development partners. Responsibilities
Drive end‑to‑end optimization and continuous improvement of existing processes to deliver on key strategic improvement projects. Develop and lead all aspects of process strategy, including continuous improvement, process health and optimization. Establish positive relationships with Process Owners, BPO Lead peers, and key business partners across Global Development. Effectively communicate with sponsors, leadership and business partners on process status and opportunities. Develop, baseline, and monitor appropriate metrics to improve process performance. Support Process Owners in timely and effective response to process gaps, inspection or audit findings, and self‑identified issues. Support risk identification within the assigned value stream of processes and develop and implement appropriate actions. Establish and collaborate on process analysis and reporting capabilities. Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 10 years of progressive business experience. Experience in Clinical Operations/Quality Operations with exposure to clinical development teams and processes. Exposure to Standard Operating Procedures, Training, Corrective and Preventative Actions, Process Improvement and Metrics. Knowledge of clinical research processes and applicable regulatory requirements. Project and portfolio management experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong critical thinking and analytical problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational levels and influence decision‑making within a global environment. Preferred: Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques or Green Belt certification. Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Visio. Preferred: Experience with SharePoint. Preferred Skills
