Our Supplier Development Europe team is a diverse group of colleagues respecting Volvo group values (change, customer success, passion, trust, and performance) that creates a high-performing culture. We are an effective and efficient one-team organization with extensive experience in Quality management and Lean manufacturing. We are building tailored supplier development programs with our suppliers to boost quality, sustainability, capacity, cost performance, and align suppliersâ strategies with our purchasing goals and expectations.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with our suppliers and external paint shops/surface treaters to create benefits for both parties. You will be responsible for the approval of new paint shops/surface treaters and APQP/PPAP activities for selected projects. You will also participate in the creation and execution of purchasing strategies, encouraging our suppliers\‘ development and increased innovation.
You will also educate and mentor activities related to cost and quality requirements. Steering sustainability supply chain management programs and driving productivity improvement programs such as VPS/Lean, as well as guiding continuous improvement actions, will also be part of your responsibilities.
Who are you?
We are looking for a colleague with an agile character, eager to learn and improve. You have a positive and entrepreneurial mindset and are always looking for the next target to reach. You have experience in effective project management and knowledge about product development.
Your communication skills make it easy for you to connect with internal and external stakeholders. You have the ability to manage and influence others, are structured and focused on execution, analytical, and have a sustainable mindset. You are comfortable working cross-functionally, managing remote activities, and handling multiple parallel activities.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE we are looking for:
- University degree in engineering or similar
- Experience in quality/production areas
- Knowledge of supply chain management and Lean manufacturing
- Educational or practical experience within electrics/electronics processes (preferable)
- Proficiency in English and local language communication skills
