Overview In this role you will develop and maintain embedded firmware for UPS power systems, leveraging real-time OS and microcontroller platforms.
You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable firmware in a global engineering environment.
The position focuses on hands-on firmware development, testing, and cybersecurity compliance to meet high standards.
You’ll contribute to scale and reliability of critical power solutions in a collaborative, Agile setting.
Verantwortungsbereiche Develop, maintain and debug embedded C firmware for UPS systems on ARM Cortex and TI MCUs with HALs and interfaces (GPIO, interrupts, timers, communication protocols).
Create and run automated and integration tests using g Test or similar frameworks, ensuring code quality and compliance (EU CRA, IEC 62443).
Collaborate with design, testing and cybersecurity teams; use Git, build systems, and CI/CD practices to support development and continuous improvement.
Demonstrate ownership, clear communication, and attention to detail within an Agile engineering environment.
Zentrale Anforderungen Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3–5 years in embedded or firmware development Strong embedded C/C++ skills; Python or scripting language is a plus Knowledge of ARM Cortex, TI microcontrollers, Free RTOS, and embedded protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, RS485, Modbus, CAN) Hands-on hardware debugging, firmware integration, Git, build systems, and structured software development practices Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, IEC 61850) and HMI panels/tools Familiarity with Node. js or Io T layers; understanding of power electronics and UPS architecture (battery management, power conversion, thermal management) Fluent in English; Italian and Agile experience are a plus ownership clear communication attention to detail embedded C/C++ Free RTOS ARM Cortex
