Overview
In this role you provide scientific, clinical, and strategic medical leadership to Abbott’s infectious disease diagnostics portfolio across Western Europe. You will engage with healthcare professionals, KOLs, and societies to shape medical strategy and support launches and lifecycle management. You’ll translate regional insights into strategic actions for regional and global leadership, while ensuring high ethical and regulatory standards. You join a dynamic, multinational team to advance diagnostic solutions that improve patient outcomes.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead multi-country medical affairs plans across Western Europe aligned with global and regional strategies
- Develop regional medical affairs plans for infectious disease diagnostics; influence product positioning and evidence generation
- Coordinate advisory boards, scientific exchanges, and clinical education initiatives
- Serve as primary medical contact for external stakeholders and internal Commercial teams in West Europe
- Oversee regional clinical evidence programs including registries and real-world data
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (DMOS, ANSM) and support legal/regulatory review of materials
- Translate healthcare insights into strategic recommendations for regional and global leadership
- Represent Abbott in scientific forums and policy discussions when appropriate
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, or related life sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD preferred)
- Strong background in infectious diseases and/or clinical microbiology
- Minimum 10 years in diagnostics, medical devices, or pharma; at least 5 years in Medical Affairs with regional responsibilities
- Experience leading medical affairs activities across multiple countries in a matrix organization
- Familiarity with local regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks
- Excellent German and English communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of West Europe healthcare ecosystems including hospitals, private labs, and public health structures
