Overview
Our client, a leading mid-market private equity firm with a strong track record across the DACH region, is seeking a highly motivated and analytically driven Senior Associate to join its Zurich-based team.
This opportunity provides full exposure to the investment lifecycle – from origination and due diligence through to portfolio management and value creation. The successful candidate will bring 7+ years of professional experience, of which at least 3-5 years should be in private equity, and demonstrate strong execution capabilities and commercial judgment.
Responsibilities
- Origination & Evaluation: Support the sourcing and evaluation of new investment opportunities across Switzerland and the broader DACH region, leveraging networks and market insights to build a strong pipeline.
- Financial Modelling & Valuation: Lead advanced LBO and returns analyses, sensitivities, and scenario planning to underpin investment theses and guide Partner-level decision-making.
- Due Diligence: Manage and coordinate complex multi-stream due diligence processes with external advisors, ensuring rigorous execution under demanding timelines.
- Investment Committee Materials: Prepare high-quality investment documentation and presentations that shape discussions and secure approvals at the highest level.
- Portfolio Value Creation: Partner with portfolio company leadership on growth initiatives, bolt-on acquisitions, capital structure optimization, and KPI tracking to drive measurable value creation.
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee portfolio reporting processes and deliver clear insights on financial and operational performance to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in transaction-driven roles, with at least 2–3 years in private equity and a proven record of deal execution and portfolio engagement.
- Execution Track Record: Strong exposure to mid-market or large-cap transactions, with demonstrated ability to manage complex deal processes end-to-end.
- Analytical Strength: Advanced skills in financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis, with the ability to distil insights and assess risk-return profiles.
- Language: Native German with fluent English, with excellent communication and presentation skills to engage credibly with executives and boards.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, commercially sharp, and proactive, thriving in a lean and high-performance environment.
- Location: Based in Zurich or willing to relocate, with strong commitment to the DACH private equity market.
