A global insurance group is looking to appoint their Head of Risk for Europe.
All candidates must have experience working within an Insurance business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and ongoing development of the enterprise risk management strategy, including defining risk appetite and embedding an effective risk appetite framework across the business.
- Partner with senior business leaders to provide commercially focused risk advice, balancing regulatory obligations with business objectives and innovation.
- Promote a proactive risk culture that supports sound decision-making, financial resilience and sustainable growth.
- Prepare and present high-quality risk reporting and governance papers for executive committees, boards and risk forums.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with relevant regulators and supervisory bodies, supporting regulatory engagement and inspections where required.
- Develop and deliver risk management training programmes to enhance organisational awareness and capability.
- Drive enterprise-wide risk awareness initiatives, embedding strong governance, ethical conduct and continuous improvement.
- Maintain expert knowledge of emerging regulatory developments and evolving risk themes, advising leadership on their potential impact.
- Ensure the organisation maintains an effective financial and enterprise risk framework, supported by appropriate policies, controls and governance arrangements.
- Partner with Finance to oversee prudential and capital risk activities, including risk input into regulatory reporting, stress testing, scenario analysis, recovery planning and capital optimisation.
- Provide strategic risk support to business transformation initiatives, projects and other ad hoc activities.
