We are currently looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer (M/F/D) to join our R&D team in Berlin or Munich . The Software Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing the firmware of an embedded system used for network security applications.

Principal Duties and Essential Functions

• Design, develop, and test the firmware of an embedded hardware security solution in an RTOS environment.
• Design, develop, and test the API between the security solution and the host system.
• Write production-grade code for cryptographic applications in C and C++.
• Be a department and possibly company expert for one or more products or features.
• Ability to work with customer support to investigate field issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

• 2+ years of experience in embedded software development (C/C++).
• Expertise with embedded software development, ideally related to cryptography.
• Proficiency with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS).
• Experience with version control systems (git) and DevOps principles (GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Previous experience with Linux and encryption solutions (OpenSSL, …).
• Knowledge of optical networking and/or Layer 2 technologies is a plus.
• Capable of working independently on the assigned design activities with minimal supervision.
• Collaborative and good communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
