Job Description

Position: Retail Parts Pro
This is a professional level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts, with capabilities in advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. It involves sourcing parts from various channels including special orders, FDO, and secondary sources. The position is full-time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone inquiries
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services such as battery installation, testing, wiper installation, etc.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance
- Perform key holder duties including task assignment, safety, and store opening/closing
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory processes including truck put-away, cycle counts, and back stock management
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Provide DIY services including battery installation and testing, wiper installation, etc.
Success Factors
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
- Knowledge of safety procedures
- Proficiency with inventory systems, POS, and parts lookup systems
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
- ASE P2 certification or equivalent
- Advanced solution and product recommendation skills
- Strong parts lookup and sourcing skills
- Advanced selling skills for DIY customers
Essential Job Skills
- Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics
- Effective communication in English; Spanish is a plus
- Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and parts catalogs
- Complete Parts Knowledge Assessment successfully
- Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends
Prior Experience and Education
- 3-5 years of automotive parts experience
- Proven sales ability and customer transaction fulfillment
- Valid driver\’s license required
- ASE certification preferred
