Test & Release Team Manager (m/f/d) in Duisburg

The Test & Release Team Manager leads the ASV Test & Release organization and is responsible for testing, release management, and customer deliveries. The role combines people leadership, strategic development, and hands‑on execution, offering the opportunity to shape and grow a high‑performing team.

Leadership & Organization

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Release Managers, Test Engineers, and Test Automation Engineers across sites.
• Define and execute the Test & Release strategy aligned with business objectives and product roadmaps.
• Drive organizational growth, capability development, and resource planning.
• Foster a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Architects, Product Managers, and Customer Support.

Testing, Release & Customer Delivery

• Define and execute the test strategy for ASV products.
• Plan and coordinate testing, software releases, patches, hotfixes, and customer deliveries.
• Integrating from multiple development streams into quality releases every sprint.
• Ensure sufficient validation coverage and release readiness.
• Continuously improve testing, release management, and deployment processes.
• Ensure customer feedback and field issues are reflected in testing and release planning.
• Define and steer the test automation roadmap.
• Support the adoption of automated testing solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement based on quality metrics and customer feedback.

Hands-On Contribution

• Actively support testing, release coordination, and customer delivery activities.
• Act as escalation point for release‑critical issues and delivery risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, Release Management, DevOps, or Software Delivery.
• Initial leadership experience and strong potential to further develop people and organizations.
• Experience with Agile development, CI/CD, software delivery, and test automation.
• Strong understanding of software testing, quality assurance, and release management.
• Familiarity with Linux-based development and deployment environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands‑on mentality with a pragmatic and execution‑oriented mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• High level of ownership, accountability, and customer focus.
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills.
