Development Engineer (m/f/d) for FPGA-based systems
The Flight Measurement Division (CC-F) has an opening for a full-time Development Engineer (m/f/d) for FPGA-based systems, starting July 1, 2026.
- Development, maintenance, and further development of FPGA designs in VHDL for measurement and communication systems
- Design and further development of architectures for digital signal processing as well as control and interface logic
- Simulation, timing analysis, optimization, and verification of FPGA designs
- Modeling and pre-verification of signal processing chains using MATLAB or Octave
- Integration of FPGA components into embedded systems with microcontrollers or soft CPUs (e.g., Nios II)
- Development of low-level software in C for controlling and integrating the FPGA modules
Interconnection via embedded bus systems (e.g., SPI, I²C, Avalon-MM, AXI, UART, Ethernet)
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable field
- Solid knowledge of digital logic development and FPGA design (VHDL, simulation, timing analysis)
- Strong programming skills in C for embedded systems
- Knowledge of MATLAB or Octave for simulating and analyzing digital signal processing
- Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Intel Quartus Prime, ModelSim, or comparable)
- Knowledge of embedded communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet)
- Basic understanding of digital signal processing is a plus
- Knowledge of Java and/or Linux driver development is desirable
- Proficiency with laboratory and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer) is a plus
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Analytical, structured, and team-oriented approach to work, as well as a hands-on mentality
