Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain virtual machines and server systems (Windows and support Linux/RedHat)
- Ensure availability, performance and security of the server landscape in our virtual datacenter
- Perform patch management, hardening and lifecycle management of server systems
- Automate server provisioning and configuration through infrastructure as code
- Drive the migration from unmanaged VMs to IaaS-provider-managed VMs
- Monitor systems and resolve incidents to minimize downtime
- This role is part of the Platform team
- Participate in future on‑call rotation
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in system/server engineering or administration
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Linux (RedHat) is a plus
- Experience with virtualization technologies and datacenter operations
- Scripting and automation skills, preferably in Bash, PowerShell or Python
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus
- Knowledge of security best practices and patch management
- Strong communication skills in English; German and French are a plus
