The role:
As a Senior Buyer (m/w/d) with Kao, you will coordinate any packaging component related sourcing tasks for some of our main salon brands. You’ll collaborate with colleagues in different departments to provide packaging procurement expertise in connection with New Product Developments (NPD) and daily operations. As a Senior Buyer, reporting into the Senior Manager for Packaging Sourcing, you’ll play a crucial role in our operations by aiding efficiency, production and quality in our salon products.
This is a full time, permanent position with some time working from home and 1-2 days per week spent in our Darmstadt office.
You will:
- Identify and manage vendors to meet specific business needs
- Financial planning, including setting annual budgets, PPV management, identifying TCR projects and communicating risks and opportunities
- Develop sourcing strategies for specific packaging components to meet unique business needs for NPD and ensuring stable supply
- Work with cross functional teams on NPD (New Product Development) ensuring packaging selection and new vendor development is in line with sourcing guidelines
- Oversee supplier management, such as the selection, evaluation and day to day supply operations
You have:
- A minimum of 4 years‘ proven strategic procurement experience, including contract negotiations, supplier management, productivity/cost savings, and spend analysis
- Expertise in NPD (New Product Development) with a focus on cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, improved coordination, delivery, pricing, lead-times, and payment
- Ideally you will have worked in the area of direct materials, e.g. packaging components.
- Fluent English and German language skills preferable
- SAP knowledge (MM/FTF)
- The ability to work with and analyse data using Microsoft Excel
- Proven experience communicating verbally and/or through PowerPoint presentations
- Commercial education (Bachelor in Business or Industrial Engineering of advantage)
