Embedded Software Test & Verification Engineer

For an aerospace project involving complex flight control and landing gear systems, we are looking for a:

Embedded Software Test & Verification Engineer (m/f/d) - Aerospace

You will work primarily on the right-hand side of the V-model: analysing requirements, deriving tests, defining and setting up test environments, executing hardware-related software tests and documenting complete verification evidence.

What You'll Do

Depending on your background and project assignment, your responsibilities may include:

• Analyse software and system requirements from a verification perspective
• Derive requirements-based test cases and detailed test procedures
• Define requirements for software tests, test equipment and test environments
• Set up, configure and adapt test environments for embedded software
• Perform functional software tests on real hardware and test benches
• Analyse verification data, measurements, signals and software failures
• Perform hardware-related testing, debugging and root-cause analysis
• Develop test applications, scripts and automated test sequences
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, procedures and results
• Create structured test reports and verification evidence
• Support or perform verification tool qualification activities
• Collaborate with embedded software, hardware, systems and verification teams
• Contribute to an agile, safety-critical development environment

What You Bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or a comparable technical discipline
• Practical experience in embedded software verification, validation or hardware-related software testing
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them independently into test cases and test procedures
• Experience with requirements-based testing and structured verification documentation
• Hands-on experience testing embedded software on real hardware or test benches
• Experience with test automation, test applications or scripting
• Programming or scripting experience with C and/or Python
• Strong debugging skills and experience analysing test results and technical failures
• Good German and English skills
• Microcontrollers and hardware-related embedded systems
• CAN, PCIe or comparable communication interfaces
• RLINK or similar debugging and programming tools
• Oscilloscopes, measurement equipment and signal analysis
• Polarion or comparable requirements-management tools
• DO-178/DO-178C, ISO 26262, ASPICE or ISTQB
• Aerospace, automotive or another safety-critical industry

Automotive candidates are welcome if they bring solid, hands‑on embedded software V&V experience, for example from ISO 26262- or ASPICE-oriented development environments.
