For an internationally successful medical technology company, we are looking for an experienced Director Product Management – Technology Platforms (m/f/d).
This senior leadership role combines strategic portfolio responsibility with genuine technological depth. You will lead several specialized Product Management teams responsible for platform technologies that support a broad range of clinical applications.
Your task is to create a coherent portfolio strategy across products and technologies, set priorities and ensure that investment decisions and roadmaps support both customer needs and the long-term direction of the business.
At the same time, this is not a purely managerial position: we are looking for someone who is willing and able to go deep into technology and product decisions and act as a credible sparring partner for senior R&D stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a Product Management organization of several smaller teams
- Define the strategy and roadmap for a complex portfolio of technology platforms
- Drive portfolio prioritization, investment decisions and business cases
- Identify synergies and reduce complexity across products and technologies
- Translate customer, clinical and market requirements into scalable platform strategies
- Partner closely with Software and Hardware R&D on technology and roadmap decisions
- Represent Product Management in senior steering and decision-making forums
- Support and challenge Product Managers on complex strategic and technical topics
- Monitor market and technology developments and derive implications for the portfolio
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in medical technology or another highly regulated technology environment
- Several years of leadership experience in Product Management or Portfolio Management
- Strong track record in product, portfolio and platform management
- Experience managing complex product portfolios and cross-product roadmaps
- Strong understanding of the interaction between software and hardware
- Ability to engage credibly in technical discussions with senior R&D stakeholders
- Strong commercial judgement, including business cases and investment decisions
- Experience working across technical, clinical and commercial functions
- Fluent English; German language skills are highly desirable
