Area of responsibility
- You cook a fresh, healthy lunch for the children and prepare dinner for the family
- You draw up the weekly meal and shopping plan and monitor supplies
- You keep the kitchen and living areas tidy and welcoming, and take care of small errands
- You look after the children’s laundry and, together with them, keep their rooms in order
- You hold the threads of family logistics together — appointments, activities, what needs to happen
- You are a reliable presence around school, homework, meals and daily routines
- You drive the children to and from school and activities — a car is provided
- With the teenagers, you support their organisation and independence, keep to agreements, respect their privacy while remaining warm and available, and can hold a boundary calmly when needed
- With the youngest child, you encourage time outdoors, in the garden and with friends
- You take on occasional evening babysitting, on average around once a week, agreed in advance
- You accompany the family for one week during the winter sports holidays (daily commute, no overnight stays)
Your profile
- The family is looking for a highly experienced person — this is not a first or second position.
- Several years of experience as a family manager or nanny in comparable households, including experience with school-age children and teenagers
- Confidence with teenagers specifically: you know that the job at that age is presence, consistency and respect rather than supervision
- Proactive and observant — you see what is needed and take it on without being asked
- A highly professional, reliable and discreet working manner
- Warm, respectful communication with children and adults alike
- You enjoy running a household well and take pride in an orderly, welcoming home
- English or French at native or near-native level
- Driving licence essential, with a confident, safe driving record
Working hours
42 hours per week at 100%, organised as annual working hours:
Days Hours
2 days 10:30 – 20:30 (10 h)
2 days 10:30 – 19:00 (8.5 h)
1 day 14:00 – 19:00 (5 h)
Total per week (100%) 42 hours
The exact days are agreed together.
During approximately 7 weeks of school holidays, full-day care is required. In return, the family travels a good deal, and during those periods there is little or no work — over the year the hours therefore tend to fall below the nominal workload, even including the occasional additional evening. Overtime is compensated.
Family life brings the occasional change of plan, but schedules are planned ahead and notice is given.
What the family offers
- A great deal of independence and a genuinely appreciative working relationship in a financially secure household that intends this to be a long-term position
- You work in a very nice environment with appreciation.
