Your Role as VP of Banking

As VP of Banking , you will be at the forefront of Ageras’ mission to scale its banking capabilities beyond France, evolving from a local payment institution to a multi-market financial platform. You will navigate complex regulatory landscapes, adapt to diverse customer needs, and oversee the development of an industry-leading banking experience for SMBs across Europe.

You will be responsible for managing and expanding our 7 banking product teams , ensuring that Ageras' financial solutions remain cutting-edge and competitive. You will work closely with C-level executives and other product leaders to align banking initiatives with the company’s strategy.

This role demands a unique blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills. You will build a world-class product organization, drive innovation in SMB banking, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial services for small businesses in Europe.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Develop and execute the banking product strategy across all markets, ensuring alignment with Ageras' overall vision
2. Lead and mentor a team of 7-8 group product managers, each responsible for critical areas such as core banking, activation, or operational efficiency
3. Oversee the development of a core banking platform capable of operating seamlessly across multiple EU markets
4. Drive the successful launch and growth of banking products in new markets while maintaining excellence in existing ones
5. Optimize operational efficiency through strategic product decisions and automation initiatives
6. Foster innovation in SMB banking, identifying new opportunities and developing features that set us apart in a competitive landscape
7. Collaborate closely with other product verticals and functional leads to ensure seamless integration of banking services with other products (Accounting & Invoicing being the top ones)
8. Build and nurture a high-performing product organization

What You'll Need

1. 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in senior leadership roles within fintech or SMB financial services
2. A track record of successfully managing and scaling product teams across multiple markets
3. A strong understanding of banking technology, including core banking systems and payment rails (cards, SEPA)
4. Knowledge of EU banking regulations and experience with regulated EMI environments
5. Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to product development
6. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Able to align and influence at all levels
7. Fluency in English and French (C1 level minimum in both)
8. Willingness to be based in Paris and travel to other European offices as needed

Nice to Have

1. Experience in post-acquisition product integration and migration strategies
2. Experience in change management and organizational transformation
3. Track record of building a core banking system
4. Experience in a regulated Fintech geographical expansion
5. Fluency in another European language (German, Dutch, Polish, Danish)
